Welcome ...
to the 2009-2010 dance season. Although a little relaxation is needed during the summer months, it’s not long after the recital that we begin planning for the upcoming year.

We have been busy creating our new website and assembling and updating beginning of the year Welcome Packets ... both of which include a full year Schedule of Events. If you look closely or read long enough through the listing, you will see that we even already have recital dates! We’ve introduced a few new classes and a few new teachers and, of course, we’re already making plans for our next recital. But no, we’re not ready to share! At least not yet anyway!

We are thrilled to have you back and are excited to welcome our newcomers. We appreciate your patience as we begin the year, sorting through classes, quieting down the waiting room, and settling down the parking area. Once this all happens, we can get down to business and teach your kids to dance. Students will make friends and they will enter the studio with a sense of security. We, as dance educators, can’t wait for this to begin. Classes come together and we move forward as a unit. Proper placement plays a key in this unit. Each child is placed in a class that is best for them and as students, they make more progress when they are comfortable instead of struggling to keep up. Parents must learn that progress in dance is measured, not by the number or complexity of the steps, but by the training of the mind and body to perform more demanding technique later. We, as well as the children, depend on your trust in our judgement in their placement. Questions regarding placement are welcomed, conflict is not. Conflict makes it hard to do our job. We love to dance, but love even more to teach. Let us do our job and we promise, in the end, we’ll all be happy.

Welcome to the Turning Pointe, where your children mean as much to us as our own. Let the season begin.

Take Care!

Your children are very precious to us inside the studio and out. We take very good care of our little dancers when they are inside the studio, but they are your responsibility when they exit the building. Please take care when crossing through the parking lot walking to your car. We recommend holding the hands of little ones until you arrive safely at your car. When driving, please enter and exit the area with caution, as you would in any school zone.
